PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2025

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a new scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Jayanti, launched on 17th September 2023. The Prime Minister announced this scheme on 15th August 2023. Its main goal is to help traditional artisans and craftsmen improve their work with financial support.

Under this scheme, these artisans and craftsmen will be officially recognized as ‘Vishwakarma’ and will get various benefits and support. They will also receive training to improve their skills and learn to use modern tools to work better along with a stipend. Additionally, they can get loans without needing to provide any security and the government will pay part of the interest on these loans.

Furthermore, the scheme will provide a platform to promote their work and help them connect with markets. This will give them a chance to use digital tools and find new opportunities. PM Vishwakarma Registration 2025

To register and apply for the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (pmvishwakarma.gov.in) scheme, follow these steps:

Step 1: Mobile and Aadhaar Verification

  • Visit the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre).
  • Complete mobile verification and Aadhaar eKYC (E-KYC) process.

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana initially has 18 types of artisans/craftsmen selected to benefit from this scheme. These artisans or craftsmen work with their hands and tools in the unorganized sector, running their businesses independently. To be eligible for registration under PM Vishwakarma, they must be engaged in one of the following 18 family-based traditional occupations.

Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armor Maker, Barbers, Lohar (Blacksmith), Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Fishing Net Maker, Sculptor/Stone Carver/Stone Breaker, Cobblers/Shoemakers/Footwear Artisans, Masons, Basket Makers/Basket Weavers/Mat Makers/Coir Weavers/Broom Makers, Doll and Toy Makers (Traditional), Garland Makers, Washermen, Tailor

Eligibility Criteria of the Vishwakarma Scheme

  1. The beneficiary must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
  2. The beneficiary should be actively involved in the relevant trade at the time of registration. They should not have taken a loan under similar credit-based schemes of the Central Government or State Government scheme in the last 5 years.
  3. Registration and benefits under the scheme can be availed by only one member of the family.
  4. Individuals working in government services and their family members are not eligible under this scheme.

PM Vishwakarma Benefits

The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana offers several benefits to its beneficiaries. Let’s discuss them one by one below.

  1. Recognition: Beneficiaries receive recognition as Vishwakarma through a certificate and ID card. This allows them to showcase their skills and gain employment opportunities.
  2. Skills Training: Basic training lasting 5-7 days (40 hours) is provided with the option for interested candidates to enrol in advanced training for 15 days (120 hours). During training, participants receive Rs 500 per day as support.
  3. Toolkit Grant: After training, beneficiaries receive Rs 15,000 to purchase the necessary tools and equipment to kickstart their work.
  4. Loan Assistance: Initially, beneficiaries receive a security-free enterprise development loan of Rs 1 lakh, repayable within 18 months. Timely repayment allows them to access a second loan of Rs 2 lakh, with a repayment period of 30 months. These loans carry a concessional interest rate of 5% with the government covering credit guarantee fees.
  5. Incentive for Digital Transactions: Beneficiaries are encouraged to transact digitally, with Rs 1 provided per transaction (up to 100 transactions) every month.
  6. Marketing Assistance: The scheme offers support in National Marketing Committee (NCM) Quality Certification, Branding & Promotion, E-commerce linkage, Trade Fairs advertising and other marketing activities to help beneficiaries promote their products and services effectively.

Beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma can check their application status, Loan Status and payment status online also through the CSC centers. Beneficiary need to call the Helpline number to know the status of the amount of stipend. Candidates can check the Tool Incentive and Loan Payment status online. Receive 500 Rupees Per Day under Vishwakarma Scheme

Basic training lasting 5-7 days (40 hours) will be provided on the selected trade of the artisan in their preferred location. Artisans can also enrol in advanced training for 15 days (120 hours); during this training, participants will receive Rs 500 per day as support. The location and timing for training will be informed later by the training institute.

Vishwakarma Yojana Loan Amount

What are the eligibility criteria for the Scheme?

Eligible beneficiaries must be artisans or craftspeople working in one of the designated trades on a self-employed basis in the unorganized sector. They must be at least 18 years old, actively engaged in their trade, and not have availed loans under similar schemes in the past 5 years.
